About the Band

Lindsey
What do you play in the band?
Vocals, guitar, bass guitar
What are some of your musical influences?
I cut my teeth on my dad's music, stuff like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, CCR, and Deep Purple. Watching the Blues Brothers at a very young age brought me Aretha Franklin and got me into soul music. As a music therapist by day, I have been introduced to many genres and artists and define my musical taste as "everything".
If you could go back in time and see any concert, who would you see?
I'm obligated to say Woodstock. Janis, Jimi, Richie Havens, the Who, et cetera. How could you go wrong? If I had to pick an individual concert, I would probably go see the Doors.
What do you like to do when you're not rocking?
I get real into gardening. Like, damn near self-sufficient, urban homestead gardening. I also like to do anything to connect with nature like hiking, foraging, camping, and laying on the forest floor until the moss consumes me.

Guitar, vocals, trumpet, percussion

Katie
What do you play in the band?
Cajon, piano, bass
What are some of your musical influences?
I have a strong background in classical piano, and love the romantic style of composers such as Brahms and Rachmaninoff. Currently, I listen to a lot of newer metal/heavy rock music, and try to incorporate some of that “fullness” into what I do as a pianist/percussionist.
If you could go back in time and see any concert, who would you see?
Bring me back to the 2010’s Vans Warped Tour any day! If I had to go back further in time, I’d love to see some classic rock//funk piano legends such as Elton John, Billy Joel, Carole King, Stevie Wonder, etc.
What do you like to do when you’re not rocking?
I enjoy spending time reading with my three cats. I also pretend to enjoy running (I know it’s good for you, but at what cost??), and attempt a 5k every now and then.

What are some of your musical influences?
My first and most impactful musical influence was a band called The Dresden Dolls. My older sister first introduced me to the song, "Girl Anachronism," which begins with this immersive piano intro and then a voice full of emotion and power shouts "1,2,3,4!" The piano goes crazy, playing dissonant tones, which fit together just perfectly to me. I began taking piano lessons because of Amanda Palmer (pianist and vocalist of The Dresden Dolls). As the band got older and began solo endeavors, I became more in love with Amanda. As a performer, an activist, a feminist, a human being, she stands up for what is right and uses her music as a platform to spread support.
If you could go back in time and see any concert, who would you see?
I would go back to the 50s to see Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash perform. I had a huge crush on Jerry Lee Lewis growing up. I think it was the enthusiastic piano playing and wild nature about him. I have always been a Johnny Cash fan, his music makes me think fondly of my dad and my grandpa (who has now passed). They both introduced me to his music.
What do you like to do when you’re not rocking?
I am a board-certified music therapist by day. When I'm not supporting mental health patients at work, I like to spend time with my 2 cats, Astrid & Hades. I have also enjoyed helping out on an alpaca farm nearby, gaining more knowledge and appreciation for these adorable creatures and the experience it takes to one day own some of my own. I love to be outside in nature and I love to do creative things ~ all kinds of arts and crafts!
